Find Your Major

Sample Plans of Study

As you review your selected major and finalize your major decision you need to consider what courses your area of study would require to graduate.

Here are some Tips to reviewing the Sample Plans of Study:

  1.  The samples are based upon the current undergraduate catalog.   You will need to meet with an Academic Advisor to discuss your specific plan of study to meet graduation requirements.
  2. Be aware that some courses may have prerequisite requirements that you will need to meet.  An Academic Advisor can help you determine if you meet the prerequisite requirements.  These requirements are also listed in your undergraduate catalog.
  3. As you review the Sample Plans of Study, carefully consider the required courses.
    • Do the courses interest you?
    • Do the courses match your natural academic skills and abilities?
If you answer is no, you may want to consider a different major.
  4. Many Departments/Schools reserve courses for students who are enrolled in their majors. If you are not admitted into the major department, you may not be able to enroll in that department/schools courses. This process is commonly referred to as a major blocked course.
